So you’ve been reading Sandbox News and you like what you see.  Or maybe you don’t – maybe you think we should write about something that isn’t here, or cover another angle of a story we did.  Well, you could heap praise on our Facebook page (which we encourage) or leave nasty comments to the articles (which we do not), but why not join the team instead?

The Sandbox is for all SPC students, including you.  We’re committed to developing a wide range of coverage on a variety of topics.  If you’re passionate about something, whether it be on-campus or off, something about which you think students need to hear, or would just enjoy, drop us a line and pitch your idea.  Is your band playing a show?  Did you get pics at an epic protest?  We’re looking for news reporters, art critics, book reviewers, students interested in campus events, webcomics, humour articles, and, especially, great ideas you have we haven’t even thought of yet.  This is your Sandbox, so come on in.  You will be paid in fame, glory, and a chance to be a little more like April O’Neil than you were before.

please send your article pitches to

sandbox.news [at] gmail [dot] com

Don’t see a section for what you want to do?  Well, send us a line about that, too.  If you think you’ve got an idea for a section we don’t have yet, and if you think you’d like to get it started, contact us.  We look forward to hearing from you.

Got an idea for a story but not sure how to write it?  Kindly check out this complete guide to journalistic writing.  We’re committed to giving every student a voice, regardless of level of experience.  Don’t have time to write?  Feel free to pitch video stories or any other medium we haven’t thought of yet.
