SPC Sports December 12, 2015by Courtney McClendon
The Titan bounces back from a lost last week by defeating the Tallahassee Eagles 76-69. Saturday’s game left the Titans with a record of 7-6.
The men looked relaxed and focused as the National Anthem played throughout the gymnasium. After the tip off, things started to heat up with SPC scoring the first basket. The first half was full of up and down the court with multiple shots in between.
Shaquille Speights led the team scoring 19 points, followed by Stavian Allen and Ismael Celestin both with 16 points. Dexter Graham had 12 and Dondre Duffus had 11 points. Dexter also had 5 rebounds and Rashad Morgan with 4.
There were some interesting highlights that were ESPN Top 10 worthy including a slam dunk by Dyllon Hudson-Emory, a behind the back lay up from Ismael Celestin, and Shaquille Speights blessing the fans with not only a beautiful three-pointer but also a well executed hook shot layup.
SPC Cheerleaders did an excellent job keeping the crowd hype while distracting the other team from making their shots
The game became close with 6 minutes left in the game. The Eagles took the lead 59-60 but couldn’t hold on to it for long. The Titans quickly took back control and the Eagles wouldn’t regain the lead for the rest of the game. The last two minutes were full of foul shots but ended with a well deserved win for the SPC men.
The team will take on their next opponent Pensacola State College Saturday, December 12, 2015 at 2pm in Ocala.
