Chalk on Main Street

Arts & Entertainment

by Megan Holzwarth

On March 19 and 20, downtown Safety Harbor hosted its 8th annual Chalk Festival. Right on Main Street artist were drawing in the streets, sidewalk, and even on wood. The whole street was blocked off for people of all ages to walk around and see the artists draw their pieces. There were food and drink stands down the block to provide for everyone and businesses selling clothes, art, jewelry, and more. Due to the rain on Saturday, the chalk fest didn’t start in the morning but in the late afternoon. On Sunday people could see the artwork and enjoy the event all day. Also, since it was St. Patrick’s Day weekend, the pub downtown was also popular with people enjoying the atmosphere and a performance on stage. The Chalk Festival had amazing and talented artwork all over Main Street.
