Ladies, Apply Here to Succeed

Female students of St. Petersburg College (SPC), would you like to have fun meeting new friends, receive scholarships, and gain leadership skills while in college? Then you should definitely consider Women on the Way (WOW). Their mission statement says “Our services empower adult learners to achieve academic, professional, and personal success.”  This SPC program is empowering women of all ages to achieve success by providing helpful services to its members since 1982 based out of the Clearwater campus. The key to this program is to be a positive reinforcement to women.

According to Bridget O’Donnell, becoming a member is easy. You must attend an orientation and maintain good academic standing as an enrolled degree-seeking student. You can even apply online. If it is your first or last semester, it does not matter. WOW understands how women face challenges throughout college so they offer scholarships for qualifying members. If you want to see how WOW is positively affecting our community, watch this video from ABC action news.WOW is featured for being a program that is helping our community by building women up to achieve independence and become leaders.

WOW is not going to stop there. They also offer assistance with class scheduling, tutoring, and provide lunch brunch meetings. WOW even helps its members in need of referrals for housing or shelters, and clothing and toiletries are provided by Dollars for Scholar’s Thrift Store. Above all, part of this program gives you positive influences that can be the backbone to your future success.
