Washington Week with Gwen Ifill records at the Palladium

Uncategorized

On Friday night, the Palladium played host to a live taping of Washington Week with award-winning host Gwen Ifill, along with journalists Dan Balz from The Washington Post, Beth Reinhard of The National Journal, John Dickerson from Slate and CBS News, and Amy Walter of ABC News.  The discussion ranged from the Republican reaction to Todd Akin‘s recent remarks on “legitimate rape” to the difficulties both candidates face as the election approaches.  Watch the full broadcast at PBS.org or see the Town Hall online special where St. Petersburg residents pose questions to the panel of journalists.

As the longest-running news and public affairs shows on American television, Washington Week has aired for more than 40 years.  In that time, the show has earned a variety of awards, including Emmys and the George Foster Peabody Award, among others.  In the Tampa Bay area, it is broadcast on WEDU.
