In one of my recent articles, I informed the public about a contest that the Ethics in Action club (EIA) has generously put on using their seed money for the students. For those of you who did not read my last article (shame on you), the EIA has gotten two contests approved that are open to all of the students at the SPC Gibbs campus. The first is a logo art contest, and the second one is an essay contest.

For the logo contest, the contestant must create an original logo for the Ethics in Action club. It can be made using any art form you would like (digital, hand sketch, etc.), as long as it at least says “Ethics in Action” or “EIA”, and the logo is not offensive or inappropriate in any way. Be creative, and just have fun! I know there are a lot of talented artists on campus.

The second contest students can enter is the writing contest. To enter, the contestant must write an essay with a minimum of 500 words answering this question in your own words: If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be? The EIA members that put forward this contest have strongly suggested that you do not give any Miss America answers.

Only one entry per contest per student is allowed. All contest entries must be submitted by November 1st, and can be turned in at the Student Activities Office. Remember, the Student Activities Office is not open during any of the quad events or on weekends. Please put your name, student ID number, and contact information (phone number and email) on your creation so that in the event you place, we are able to contact you and give you your prize. These contests are for current students only, so if you submit an entry and you are not a student you will be disqualified.

Another bit of information I did not give in the last article due to the fact the contest was not approved, there are three prizes for each contest! Both contests have the same prizes, and students are allowed to win something from both contests. The EIA club wanted to give back to their student community by giving a prize that would help students get things they need for everyday life. The prizes are:

1st Place: $125 Wal-Mart Gift Card

2nd Place: $75 Wal-Mart Gift Card

3rd Place: $50 Wal-Mart Gift Card
