
On Twitter – Titans Baseball vs. Lake Sumter 2/25

On February 25th, the SPC Titans baseball team took on Lake Sumter baseball with the first pitch being thrown at 3pm. The game took place at Joe DeMaggio field and had the home-field advantage of a beautiful day. The Titans pitcher of the game was #9 Drake Hloska, who gave an outstanding pitching performance as the game progressed to keep the Titans in the lead all game long.
In the bottom of the 4th inning, Titans #18, Brad Myott, was the lead-off player at bat and a Titan was able to run for home, making the score 1-0. The 5th inning was full of excitement with Titans #2, Marcus Guzman, starting it off the right way for the Titans. When this inning began, the Titans got themselves into a thrilling bases loaded situation. All three runners that were on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd base ran for home and scored, making their lead 3-0 for the Titans!
When the top of the 6th inning came around, Titans #2, Marcus Guzman, was on 2nd base and hustled for home, scoring with the score now 4-1. The Titans made some great plays in the infield and outfield along with their good pitching during the nine innings. In the bottom of the 6th inning, the Titans stole 3rd base and Lake Sumter allowed a walk, moving the Titans to 1st base. The next Titan up to bat walked to 1st base, giving the Titans all 3 players on base in a bases loaded position once again!
All three players got the opportunity to run for home and they all scored! There was another walk given for the Titans and the player who was now on 3rd base sped for home and scored as well. The Titans vs. Lake Sumter game was now an impressive 7-1 in the Titans favor!
Drake Hloska was still pitching in the game at this time and threw several strikes to the Lake Sumter batters. A Titan pitching change was made when Lake Sumter scored their first run in the bottom of the 7th inning. There was not a score change in the 8th inning. Lake Sumter brought 2 more of their runners home in the top of the 9th inning, with the score at 7-3. The new Titans pitcher was then #14, Jeremy Graf, on the pitcher’s mound.
Another Lake Sumter runner scored in the 9th inning, changing the score to 7-4, which would end up being the final score of this game. The Titans won and this was their 6th win in a row with 7 of their powerful runners scoring in this outstanding game for them! Way to go guys! Let’s Go Titans!!
