Ember Skies, A Place for Student Work to be Seen and Heard
Uncategorized August 22, 2012Fine art, Photography, CoMotion Dance Theater, and Writing are some of the categories on the new web site Ember Skies, which consists of student work. The new site is promoting student talent in an amazing way, as quoted from the site, “Ember Skies is an online interdisciplinary arts showcase dedicated to celebrating the many talents of the students at St. Petersburg College.”
Getting things published as an undergraduate is very exciting and allows students the opportunity to build a portfolio that will assist them in getting jobs and/or help in applying to a great university. Any student looking to get published, or just get their work out into the world, can utilize this prospect by following the instructions provided on the About link on the site.
All work submitted is put to the test by professionals in each category, making it a challenge to turn in the very best work and an honor to be published. Students at St. Petersburg College pursuing the Arts now have a great resource that will allow them to get published. Even students that are not pursuing the arts need to build a portfolio to help in applying for jobs or further school, now they have a channel that is prestigiously displaying their hard work. Any current student attending St. Petersburg College is encouraged to submit any kind of art work they may have, including writing, to build a portfolio and be recognized for their hard work. All forms of photography, music, poetry, drawings, sculptures, and fictional writing are welcome to be reviewed by faculty judges for each area, students will be notified quickly with a decision.
