Mr. Lonnie King is from Atlanta, Georgia and is a Civil Rights Activist who worked next to Martin Luther King, Jr. Mr. Lonnie King was the chairman of the Committee on Appeal for Human Rights (COAHR), one of the founders of the Student Non-Violent Coordinating Committee (SNCC), past president of the National Association for Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) Chapter in Atlanta, current president of the National Organization for Civil and Human Rights and has taught at the University of the District of Columbia, Sojourner Douglass College, Baltimore City Public Schools, Howard County Maryland Public Schools, Georgia State University and serves on many Board of Directors. He will be discussing his legacy, experiences and the stories of working alongside Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Come hear this historical icon!
