Statewide Elections Association Offers College Scholarships

The deadline is March 17 to apply for a statewide scholarship available to certain college juniors and seniors.

College juniors and seniors majoring in political science, public administration or business administration, journalism or mass communications at an accredited Florida college may apply for scholarships.

The Florida State Association of Supervisors of Elections, comprised of the 67 county supervisors, will award three $1,200 scholarships this year to eligible students.

“I encourage students to take advantage of this opportunity to help with their college costs and apply for this scholarship before the deadline,” said Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections Deborah Clark.

Requirements such as letters of recommendation and financial information are listed on the scholarship application and in the scholarship guidelines, which are available online at www.votepinellas.com.

Applications should be submitted in the county in which the student is registered to vote.

Scholarship applications must be received by 5 p.m. March 17 in any Pinellas County Supervisor of

Elections Office:

315 Court St., Room 117 Clearwater;

13001 Starkey Rd. Largo;

501 1st Ave. N., St. Petersburg.
