On Twitter – Titans Baseball vs. Central FL 2/11

The SPC Titans Baseball played  Central Florida on February 11th, 2015, at a new venue: Jack Russell Stadium in Clearwater. The game did not begin at the originally planned start time, which was at 3:00pm, due to a field maintenance problem that occurred at Joe DeMaggio Field. After about about 20 minutes, it was announced that the game would being moved to Jack Russell Stadium instead.

The first pitch from the Titans was finally thrown 4:40 pm. The game started out really rough for the Titans; they were scoreless in the first couple of innings with Central Florida scoring 5 runs to start. The Titans eventually started scoring when the game moved into the 6th inning and put a few points on the board with the score 3 to 7.

The competitive Central Florida team did not back down and brought more runners home, changing the score to 4 to 9. Central Florida held the lead as a pitching change was made for the Titans. From here, the Titans started to gain some momentum and brought 2 more runners home, making the score 6 to 9.

In the end, the Titans could not produce a comeback, making this game their first loss of the season. The game ended with a score of 6 to 9, making Central Florida the winners of this hard fought game. The Titans fell 3 runs short of a victory to Central Florida, but still hold an impressive 7-1 record! Go Titans baseball!
