SPC Sports

By Gregory Bush

On February 24, SPC baseball fans were able to watch their Titans taken on the St. John’s River Vikings at Joe DiMaggio field. With the weather cold and moist, it was tough to stay warm during the event.

The game did not initially start off in the Titan’s favor, as the Vikings were able to score their first two runs in the first three innings. However, during the second half of the 3rd inning, the Titans began to turn things around, scoring their first two runs at the end of the 3rd, tying the game 2-2.

At the top of the 4th, the Vikings were fighting back, getting all bases loaded at one point, but both teams were only able to get one run each, tying the scores 3-3.

SPC was able to score its first home run in the 5th inning and was able to get another run in by the end as well.

Dbb5uring a particularly long 6th & 7th inning, the Vikings were able to get another run in, but at this point the Titans had the momentum and were leading 11-5 by the end of the 8th inning. The Titans were able to hold on for the 9th inning and concluded the game with an 11-5 win over the Vikings. All in all, it was a great game by both teams and one to remember.
