It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon on April 25th, when the Titans took on the SCF Manatees for their last game of the season at Joe DiMaggio Field in Clearwater, FL. The first pitch was thrown at 1pm and the Titans had starting pitcher #8, Tyler Shambora on the mound. Shambora put on an excellent pitching performance and held the running game for the Manatees all seven innings. Shambora started it out by throwing two quick 1-2-3 innings giving the Titans a chance to score first. The Titans batters answered his call as the bats came swinging with back-to-back base hits for #27 Alan Archer and #26 Mike Mann. The Titans had a runner in scoring position and before you knew it it was 1-0 Titans. Shambora continued to keep the running game down as no runners scored for the Manatees in the top of the 2nd. The bats continued their hot streak as #6 Alan Archer and #15 Trey Amburgey both singled to center which brought home two more runs for the Titans and made the score 3-0 Titans. Shambora continued to throw heat as he struck out two more batters in the 3rd inning. Next it was the Titans turn and the base hits kept coming as #4 Diamond Johnson singled to left and so did the next Titans batter. Johnson then stole 3rd and both runners were in scoring position for the Titans. On a high fly ball, #4 Diamond Johnson stole home, increasing the Titans lead to 4-0 in the bottom of the 4th. After this the Titans had an awesome double play to quickly end the inning.
The game then headed into the bottom of the 5th as #15 Tyler Amburgey hit a rare Inside-the-park home run and gave the Titans a 5-0 lead. Shambora was still on the mound for the Titans and had a shut out going until the 6th inning, as a runner came home for the Manatees which made the score 5-1. This was the only run Shambora allowed to score the entire game. Then, it was the Titans turn again to bat and #4 Diamond Johnson singled to center and then stole 2nd and 3rd. The ball then slipped past the Manatee 2nd baseman and bases were loaded for the Titans. The base hits kept coming as the Titans continued to load the bases and scored 7 runs in this one inning which made the score 12-1 Titans! The Titans starting pitcher #8, Tyler Shambora would come out to pitch the very last inning and ended up pitching a complete game for the Titans! The Final score stayed 12-1 as the Titans closed out the last game of the season on a high note! Way to go Titans!!
