Visting The Florida Botanical Gardens

This year I attended the Florida Botanical Gardens exhibit for the first time despite residing in this state my entire life. The Gardens are located in Largo, Florida and boast over one hundred and twenty acres of land including beautiful scenic gardens as well as natural landscapes and wildlife.

At first I wasn’t sure quite what to expect, but I ended up in a maze of connected gardens for three hours with a mentality of cluelessness as to when it would end. The pathways featured informational guides and signs around every corner, which kept me entertained but also brought about some new knowledge. An event was being held the day I attended but it was easy enough to weave through the groups of visitors and enjoy the warm day being surrounded by beautifully structured gardens, some even occupied with wildlife. Besides the event, a group of people was practicing for a ceremony in the picturesque wedding garden but they didn’t seem to mind the attention of onlookers peeking in.

Florida Botanical Gardens offers a little bit of something for every personality type out there, especially those looking to deepen their love and education of our ecosystem and the environment. The Florida Botanical Gardens also contains a resource center that partners with University of Florida which is devoted to providing environmental research to the Pinellas area. Overall I truly enjoyed the exhibit and look forward to future events being held there which are posted both on their website as well as in the main office and gift shop center. Everyday is open for visitors and admission is free for all, in addition to private tours hosted each Sunday. Anyone with a few spare hours on his or her hands should definitely come check this place out for some relaxation and to appreciate the natural beauty our land has to offer.
