Super Smash Brothers is a satisfying game series for gamers from the moment it was released. The series consists of four games, from the oldest to the newest ones being, Super Smash Bros, Super Smash Bros: Melee, Super Smash Bros: Brawl and Super Smash Bros 4. The Super Smash Bros series is an arcade style game in which the gamer plays as one of the characters of their choice from the roster given. The player can battle up to three characters, making a total of four characters per match when including the player’s character. The Super Smash Bros series has improved with their most recent release of Super Smash Bros 4 because of its outstanding graphics, smooth online game play (recently updated), entertaining new mini games, fun new characters, downloadable characters, and the new customizing option, which gives you more creativity.

Super Smash Bros 4’s target audience is said to be from kids up to young adults, but Super Smash Bros entertains many more because the Super Smash Bros series is a great series to play. Now even more with the new game play modes, characters, and the amount of characters now playable per match that helps to enhance the game. Though some fans of the Super Smash Bros series may dislike the fact that the storyline mode in the new Super Smash Bros 4 was taken out, Super Smash Bros 4 makes up for taking out the storyline mode with its extra mini game stages, an example being the Trophy Rush mode.

Super Smash Bros 4 has simple fighting controls, amazing graphics, updateable online game play and growing character roster with its downloadable characters. Moreover, there is a new option given to customize a character even more to the competitors liking. With the new customizing option, one can make one’s favorite character(s) stronger, faster, high on defense, or a balance of all three. Another new addition is being able to create a personal Mii avatar; the Mii can be a gunman, swordsmen, or a fist fighter.

Super Smash Bros 4 is the second game in the franchise to have the option of competing with other players online, though Super Smash Bros 4 is the only one with this option left. Due to the release of Super Smash Bros 4, its predecessor, Super Smash Bros: Brawl’s online servers were shut down. This was not much of a loss for Super Smash Bros: Brawl since the online server did not run as smoothly as it does now with Super Smash Bros 4. Now that the online server runs smoothly in the new Super Smash Bros 4, any player can compete with their friends and or random guest without much trouble. Also the competitors can play up to eight players online without any trouble. It would be helpful to consider the fact that one can only play on stock mode online with those who are added on the friends list and that with random online guests a timed match can only be done.

To sum up, the Super Smash Bros series has only improved and now with this new Super Smash Bros 4 game, it is easy to rate the game a 9.5 out of 10. This game is highly recommended to the fans of the previous Super Smash Bros game and newcomers alike.
