News & Politics November 6, 2010Texas Senator Ted Cruz, elected in 2012, lives in Houston with his wife Heidi and two daughters, Caroline and Catherine. His mother was a computer programmer and his father is a pastor. Cruz is the Solicitor General of Texas, the state’s chief lawyer before the US Supreme Court. Cruz is the longest person serving in this position, as well as the youngest and the first Hispanic to serve.
Cruz partnered in a private law firm in Houston for 5 years and taught US Supreme Court Litigation from 2004-09 as an adjunct professor of law at the University Of Texas School Of Law. He graduated with honors from Princeton and with high honors from Harvard Law School. He was the first Hispanic to clerk for Chief Justice of the United States. Cruz defends sovereignty against the UN, the second amendment right to bear arms, and is firmly against Net Neutrality.
