It’s hard to believe that the holidays are right around the corner. As the semester comes to an end, we are left with three weeks of winter break with nothing to do! So why not beat the heat this winter by staying indoors and spending your holidays with the arts.

City Of St. Petersburg: Holiday Windows on Central Avenue

Now-January, 2nd, 2012. For a fun and free activity, take a stroll down Central Avenue and peer into the imaginatively decorated holiday windows of the stores along Central. The participating stores are located between 4th and 8th street. The suggested time to view these artful displays is between 10 A.M. and 6 P.M.

Morean Arts Center: Handmade Holiday Wrapping

Now-December 24th, 2011. Located at 719 Central Avenue, St. Petersburg. Come to the Morean Arts Center’s Make Space and create holiday gift wrapping and greeting cards from recycled materials. This is a great event for everyone to partake in and will surely save you money on that wrapping paper from the store while saving the environment at the same time! This event is FREE so don’t miss out!

SPC: Piano Concert Series: Dmitri Shteinberg

December 2nd, 2011 7:30-9:00 P.M. at the St. Petersburg/ Gibbs Campus Music Center. A Russian native, Dmitri Shteinberg is an internationally renowned pianist who has performed with several of the worlds greatest musical groups.

freeFall Theater: A Christmas Carol: The Musical

December 8th, 2011-January, 1, 2012. This new adaptation of the classic holiday novel is predicted to be a bay area tradition for years to come. Studio@620: The Empowered Voice: Home for the Holidays

December 13th-14th& 20th-21st, 2011 7:30 P.M. This holiday show is a guaranteed good time for people of any religious preference. This event will feature several local vocalists performing little known holiday tunes in a variety of styles that makes for a night to be enjoyed by the everyone! St. Petersburg Opera: SEASONAL SPARKLE: A Holiday Extravaganza
