March 12: Two Billy Collins Readings in St. Petersburg

As part of its exciting lineup of poetry readings, SPC is proud to present a pair of readings by celebrated poet Billy Collins on March 12, one in the Music Center on the Gibbs campus and another at the Palladium in downtown St. Pete.

Billy Collins is the author of eight collections of poetry, including Ballistics,The Trouble with PoetryNine HorsesSailing Alone Around the RoomQuestions About AngelsThe Art of Drowning, and Picnic, Lightning. He is also the editor ofPoetry 180: A Turning Back to Poetry and 180 More: Extraordinary Poems for Every Day. A distinguished professor of English at Lehman College of the City University of New York, he was Poet Laureate of the United States from 2001 to 2003 and Poet Laureate of New York State from 2004 to 2006.

Mr. Collins will read at the Music Center on the St. Pete Gibbs campus from 12:30-2 p.m., and again at the Palladium Theatre at 7:00.  The event is free for with valid SPC student ID, $10 for general public admission.
