Looking for a fun hangout spot for all ages? Snappers Grill and Comedy Club is the place! Located at 36657 U.S. Highway 19 North in Palm Harbor, Snappers originally opened in 1988. They have come a long way since then keeping it fun, fresh, and entertaining. Their live comedy, DJs, bands, and variety of food to choose from leaves no room for a dull moment. It’s the type of place that keeps you coming back for more.

Snappers was recently remodeled with flat screen TVs wall to wall, so no matter what sporting event is going on, patrons will be able to watch. With two liquor bars, one inside and one outside, and great staff that keep up with the high volume crowd with ease, customers can sit back and enjoy the atmosphere.

When ordering food the customers’ options seem unlimited. There is a huge menu that features burgers, wings, sandwiches, and seafood. One unique feature is the grill pit that cooks delicious BBQ on the weekends. Surprisingly, Snappers even has fresh sushi made to order every day of the week! Nicole’s Roll, named after one of the bartenders, has spicy tuna, eel, cucumber, onions, avocado, Japanese mayo, eel sauce, and tempura asparagus wrapped in soy paper and topped with salmon, white tuna, sriracha, and eel sauce.

The menu also has daily specials. Mondays are buy ten wings and get ten for free! Tuesdays are one dollar steak or chicken tacos and dollar drafts, and Wednesdays are five dollar burgers and sandwiches; with sixteen different sandwiches to choose from, there is something for everyone. Also, by registering on their website, you can receive text messages with even more deals.

I asked Paul, one of the owners, why Snappers would be a good place for SPC students to spend their free time. He said, “Quality entertainment is a key ingredient for success as students go through their day-to-day routines, assignments, homework, and planning their futures. I find that humor in comedy is a great way to rejuvenate the soul.”

The comedians that perform at Snappers are nationwide touring professionals. Every week there is someone new performing, and fifty dollars gets you two tickets, dinner, and drinks. This is the average price one would spend on dinner alone at most places, but Snappers provides so much more for your money.

In addition to comedy, there is live music. Some of the regular bands/musicians include George Hertzel, Jeff Duncan (who also plays in the band The Voodoodes, and The Bearded Brothers who recently played at the Hard Rock Casino and opened for Charlie Daniels.

Snappers is located near the Tarpon Springs campus. No matter what is going on there, the customers will enjoy themselves without breaking their wallets.
