It was a warm November evening at Eddie C. Moore softball complex, as the Lady Titans took the diamond. It was truly a pitcher’s duel at the park as the two sides went 3 up and 3 down for the first 4 innings. Starting pitcher #4 Kaitlyn McMillan was on the mound for the Lady Titans and held no prisoners in the 6 innings she pitched. Only giving up a pair of hits, she dominated the strike zone all night.

Not only was Kaitlyn McMillan on her game, but the entire defense was as well. As the night wore on, a couple pitches got away from McMillan and the Bullets tried taking advantage. If not for the tremendous effort by CF #8 Ana Bravo, things could’ve swung the other way. A couple warning track shots by the Bullets into straight away center were chased down by Bravo and proved to be the difference.

At the bottom of the 6th the score was still tied at 0. #21 Debbie Brown hit an absolute shot into center field. Had the wind been going in her favor, that ball would’ve been gone. She wound up with a stand-up triple. At this point, #18 Perla Del Valle was up to bat. After battling with the pitcher for a few pitches, she made solid contact right to the shortstop for a sacrifice grounder to bring home Brown.

At the top of the 7th a sub at pitcher, #19 Melanie Bakotic, came in for the close. Once again a 3 up, 3 down inning put this one away for the Lady Titans with a final score line of 1-0. The Lady Titans now play the Red Raiders at home in a doubleheader Friday the 13th at 5pm and 7pm.
