The Primary Candidates on Student Issues

With the wealth of discussion on the presidential race, figuring out who stands for what is an overwhelming task. So the Sandbox has taken on finding out where candidates stand on issues specific to student concerns.

First, we surveyed over 200 students to find what issues mattered most to them. The top 5 categories were:

  1. FINANCIAL AID / STUDENT LOANS / COST OF EDUCATION
  2. JOBS/ ECONOMY
  3. APPROACH TO TERRORISM / EXTREMIST GROUPS
  4. HUMANITARIAN / FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR OTHER NATIONS
  5. RACIAL TENSION

Second, student reporters researched the candidates and uncovered what they said in interviews and speeches on these topics. Click on the links below to find out more about each candidate and how he or she plans to handle topics of importance to you!
