Community Service Project a Success at Moccasin Lake Nature Park
SPC Programs & Events September 17, 2018By Prof. Kelli Stickrath
Sixty-one SPC students, faculty and family members came together to volunteer for a community service project at Moccasin Lake Nature Park in Clearwater.
On Saturday, September 15th students from Biology, Ethics, Environmental Science, Composition and other classes worked to get the park ready for its Grand Opening.
Volunteers gardened, worked on the birds of prey enclosures, cleaned up the boardwalk and trail, and cleaned the inside and outside of the classroom. To honor our vets, they were invited to give Penelope the Eagle a bath. What a great experience!
The Grand Opening of the Nature Center is October 27th from 10am-2pm.
This effort was a partnership between the City of Clearwater Parks and Recreation Department, SPC Tarpon Campus (TS) Ethics Department, TS Environmental Club, Clearwater Tri-Beta Club and TS Photography Club.
