Poetry: Seminole Campus

Out of the Sandbox

By Diana Perez

There is something about this campus,

That makes me feel like home.

I love the faculty and fellow students there.

They are my family when I’m away from my own.

The advisors really care, and the disability department too.

I get all that I need there; I really do not want to move.

I have grown so much since I first started,

Cause my past was full of pain.

I thought that I was nothing, and I was full of shame.

I never thought I could come to college,

I thought I couldn’t learn anything cause I was too old,

Each of the classes and professor’s I took have really touched my soul.

I have shared many memories with them, some tears and some strife,

But I cherish every moment at Seminole Campus

Cause It really changed my life.
