Poetry: Eternal Learning
Out of the Sandbox October 3, 2017 , by Sandbox StaffBy Matthew Philbrook
If we gained life eternal
What kind of world would be?
It would be good for all to care
To work together, making everything better
To pass on to the children the collected knowledge
Would wisdom fill our journal?
Could mercy and love be all we see?
Misery and crime have gone elsewhere
To each other, we decide to be a debtor
Everyone’s true inner spirit we acknowledge
Can the best of mankind be external?
To help each other we all agree
That good news would not be rare
True kindness the pacesetter
And mankind’s enrichment taught in every college.
