Fishing Club Headed to Fort Desoto
SPC Programs & Events February 18, 2017 , by Sandbox StaffBy Nicholas Tijerina
Thursday the 9th, The SPC Fishing Club met at the Arrowhead Picnic Area of Fort DeSoto to fish for Winter Flounder, Sheepshead, and Speckled Seatrout. They used both live shrimp and lures with the Berkley Gulp! Swimming Mullet® on a ¼ ounce jighead in chartreuse as the preferred artificial. They also intend to go there on February 23 from 10:30-12:00. ”Gear is available for sign out and bait is provided,” according to the head of the Club, Professor Chris Nichol. If you are interested in joining The SPC Fishing Club, please contact Professor Nichol at Nichol.Chris@mycourses.spcollege.edu.
Below is a humorous picture of Professor Nichol from their Facebook page, (though the Ladyfish head is obviously photoshopped!)
