Poetry: A Collection by Kathy McRee (part 2)

Out of the Sandbox

“You and I”

I’ve never known love

until the beautiful day

fate introduced us

“I Promise You”

Life is worth living

Even through the struggles of it

Because we have no idea what

The future holds for tomorrow

or the rest of our lives

The future is like a present

Some of the days of it

Could be bad or good – who knows?

The worth of getting to see what is to come by experiencing it yourself

Surpasses any harmful thing

We put against ourselves

I know what it’s like to want to end it

But if I’d listened to what I wanted

And not remembered God’s promises,

I never would have had the opportunity

To help you save yours too

When God looks at you,

He sees a person suffering from heartache and inner turmoil

He wants to help you so much

All one must do is accept it

As the burdens that will fall

Like rocks off of you

One day, you will be able

To breathe the air again

I promise you

Life isn’t easy, and each day may have its little ups and huge downs, but your life is worth it – so live it

You can make it – for I believe in you
