Over the log bridge and down the dirt road at Lake Seminole Park

Lake Seminole Park is located on Park Boulevard just before Seminole Boulevard. The two hundred fifty acre park has a 2-mile trail with beautiful scenery of the lake. The park also includes many different forms of wildlife, a boat ramp, and thirteen picnic shelters with playgrounds. The park is something to be marveled by students and families alike.
During my most recent visit to the trail for a walk with my friend, her family (including her dog), my dogs, and myself, we encountered a log bridge while on the paved trail. At first we just walked right past it and thought it must be for workers’ use only. Upon turning around we found that the tiny, two log bridge led right to a dirt path off the lake. We decided to climb over it and check it out (I hope that wasn’t illegal).
This dirt path provided ample views of trees and a panoramic view of Lake Seminole. The path seemed to have tire tracks, which lead us to believe that it was what park rangers and employees would use to get around. At the end of the path we found a deck to look out onto the lake. As the children were looking out onto the water, they spotted an alligator.
Next time you find yourself at Lake Seminole Park, look for that same log bridge. If you see it, take a more natural walk around Lake Seminole; as they say, “of all the paths you take in life, make sure a few of them are dirt.”
