Poetry: Time to Move On
Out of the Sandbox November 25, 2015 , by Sandbox StaffBy Diana L. Perez
“Time to Move on”
Feelings that I feel
Are deep down inside
Even when I don’t see you
They are in there, I can’t deny
I know they’re probably one sided
Perhaps you don’t feel the same way
But it don’t matter
What more is there to say?
It was great while it lasted
The memories are bitter sweet
I cried for months, it hurt
I admitted complete defeat
You’re with another woman
I knew it all along
I could see it in your face
It’s the same old sorry song
The feelings I still feel
Remind me of the pain
It serves as a rude awakening
Like the bright sun right after the rain.
You’re gone now, it’s over
We both need to carry on
I gave God the broken pieces of my heart
It’s him now who I count upon.
